The first step towards eliminating misbehavior is making sure students are appropriately grouped so they can succeed.
- Initially, DILS conducts all DI student placement testing to ensure correct placement.
- Accurate placement is key: If a child is placed too high—they will struggle, leading to frustration and acting out.
- If placed too low—they will become bored and disengaged.
- DI ensures students are placed exactly where they belong, determining their level, lesson, and grouping, in collaboration with school staff.
This precise approach creates a foundation for positive classroom behavior and effective instruction.
Starting Instruction

Once the DI materials are ordered, instruction can begin immediately.
- Students are grouped efficiently, allowing teachers to deliver targeted lessons from day one.
- Teachers gain confidence knowing that each student is placed at the correct level, minimizing the risk of behavioral issues.

Building Internal Capacity
In the second year, DILS transfers the placement testing process to master teachers, empowering them to:
